What you get

Why use Mergevanta to resize a photo or signature for an online form

Exact pixels, under the limit

The picture is scaled to the exact width and height, then saved at the best JPG quality that fits the KB limit, so it passes the upload check the first time.

Frame it, never stretch it

A box with the form's shape lets you frame your face. Signatures can be fitted inside the box with a white border instead of being squashed.

Cleaner signatures

Clean white background turns grey or yellowish paper pure white, and Make ink darker strengthens a faint pen, so the signature stays readable at 140 × 60 px.

Private, on your phone

Everything runs in your browser, with no upload, no sign-up and no watermark. Take the photo with your phone's camera and resize it on the spot.

FAQ

Resize photo for forms questions

Most forms check three things: the file type (usually JPG), the width and height in pixels, and the file size in KB. A phone photo is often 3–5 MB and thousands of pixels wide, so it fails on all of them. This tool fixes all three at once and shows a tick for each requirement.

Pixels are the picture's width and height, such as 200 × 230. KB is how much space the file takes. Two pictures of the same pixel size can have very different KB, because KB depends on detail and JPG quality. Forms usually set both, so the tool sets the pixels exactly and then adjusts the quality to fit the KB.

The file has to be at least 20 KB and at most 50 KB. Ranges like this are common on Indian government exam and bank forms (SSC, UPSC, IBPS or NEET style portals), though each sets its own numbers. The tool aims for the highest quality under the maximum. If a very plain picture still comes out under the minimum, it tells you plainly; many portals accept a smaller file, but check your form's instructions.

Pixels = centimetres ÷ 2.54 × dpi. At 300 dpi, 3.5 × 4.5 cm is 413 × 531 px, which is the Passport-style photo preset. For any other size, choose Custom size, switch to Centimetres and enter the dpi your form gives; the pixels are worked out for you.

Sign in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper, then photograph it in daylight from straight above, without a shadow. Choose a signature size, drag the box around the signature and keep Clean white background on. Turn on Make ink darker if the pen looks faint.

No. The photo is read, cropped, resized and saved by your own browser, and it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for ID photos and signatures, and it works even on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

Yes. The tool is built for phones: tap Take photo for a selfie, or Photograph signature to use the back camera, drag the box with your finger and download the file straight into your gallery or downloads.
