What you get

Why use Mergevanta to compress a PDF to under 100 KB

Made for upload limits

Many government, university and recruitment application portals cap each document at 100 KB. The 100 KB target is preselected, so one click is usually enough.

Text stays readable

Only the images inside the PDF are resampled. Typed text and lines are never turned into pictures, so names, dates and numbers stay crisp.

Honest about the result

You see the exact size in KB and in bytes. If 100 KB isn't reachable, you get the smallest possible file and a plain explanation of why.

Private and free

No watermark and no sign-up. Small files are compressed on our encrypted server and deleted straight away; large ones right in your browser.

FAQ

Compress PDF to 100 KB questions

Every page needs a minimum amount of data: its text, fonts and images at the lowest quality that's still readable. Several photo-quality scanned pages may not fit into 100 KB without turning pages into blurry pictures, which Mergevanta doesn't do. Remove pages you don't need with Split PDF, or rescan in black and white.

Yes. Typed text, fonts and lines are kept exactly as they are; only images are resampled, down to about 50 dots per inch at the strongest setting. Scanned pages look softer but stay legible on screen. Open the downloaded file and check it before you upload.

Ten scanned pages in 100 KB leaves about 10 KB per page, which is very little. Mergevanta tries anyway and, if you allow it, turns pages gray as a last resort. If it still doesn't fit, upload only the pages the form asks for, or use Compress PDF to 200 KB if the portal accepts larger files.

Yes. It works in mobile browsers on Android and iPhone with no app to install. Pick the PDF from your files or downloads, press Compress PDF and download the smaller copy.

It's completely free, with no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many files you compress.

Files up to 4 MB are sent to Mergevanta's server encrypted end to end, compressed in memory and deleted as soon as the result is sent back. Larger files are compressed in your browser and never leave your device.
